Mr. Brown is the founder and President of Proteus Workshop, a California corporation.

He has led sales and marketing teams at technology enabled business services firms with annual revenues of less than $1 million to more than $11 billion. Brown served at companies including FedEx, QRS, Tumbleweed and PlaceWare in a corporate career spanning 26 years. Highlights include shareholder value doubling during his tenure as VP Sales at QRS, a very successful IPO at Tumbleweed Communications where he was Director of Business Development, and ultimately the acquisition by Microsoft of the web conferencing firm PlaceWare, where he was VP Worldwide Sales. During Brown's tenure at PlaceWare, sales grew from a $4 million to a more than $49 million run rate in just 18 months.

Stephen has served at the officer level in both public and private firms and is well acquainted with early and mezzanine stage high-technology companies and the steps necessary to ensure their growth. He has established and built-out several globally deployed sales forces and their management teams, while remaining personally involved in the largest sale opportunities on multiple continents. His lead generation programs have been delivering millions of dollars in new business to companies for more than two decades.

A no nonsense, results oriented style and a disciplined approach to market development have enabled Brown to bring success to start-up, mid-size and Fortune 500 firms.
